Economy

WHAT DOES IT COST?

It, of course, depends on your needs. In the case of a simple irregular tooth in one jaw, around 15,000 kr.

If it involves teeth in both the upper and lower jaw it's approx. 30,000 kr.

A more complicated treatment in which teeth, functionality and tooth extraction are to be considered, you should estimate a cost of 40-45,000 kr.

Comfort

DOES IT HURT?
It does not hurt to wear braces. However, one should expect that the teeth may get sore up to one week after the braces are put on. When the braces are tightened, one should also expect a little bit of discomfort.

Time

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?
You should expect approximately 1½ - 2 years. Possibly only 1 year for simple treatments and 3 years for more comprehensive and complicated treatments.

Food and eating

CAN YOU EAT NORMAL?
Yes, especially if it's a loose set of braces that your teeth are being corrected with. Braces are glued onto your teeth and can loosen, therefore, be careful with hard food items.

Healt

DO YOU LOOSE WEIGHT?
Some loose weight at the beginning of the treatment, as their appetite is affected by the irritation of the new environment. The braces can make meals difficult to consume at the beginning. However, this is just a transition.

Procedure

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE BRACES ARE TAKEN OFF AT THE END OF YOUR TREATMENT?
The most important part of the treatment is initiated – maintaining the results! Every patient is provided with retainers. Typically, a removeable one for the upper jaw and a metal thread cemented onto the back of the 6 teeth in the front lower jaw.

Payment

SHOULD YOY PAY THE WHOLE AMOUNT AT ONCE?

No

No! You start by paying a smaller amount and hereafter by an agreed monthly installment.

Keep in mind that when choosing 35% own-payment and 65% subsidy from the municipality, it applies to every aspects within dental care, i.e. general dental care and orthodontic care too.
